Probably the most significant announcement in the history of British supermoto has just been released. Following extensive discussions between the AMCA, ACU, BSMC and the Sportcity partners a stunning new British Championship venue has been added to the 2008 race calendar. Sportcity is the home of Manchester City Football Club as well as the Manchester Velodrome, Manchester Regional Arena and National Squash Centre. It will soon add supermoto to its sporting programme. In a ground-breaking deal the spectacular British Supermoto Championships will be run in the grounds of Sportcity, Manchester on Saturday 27 September. The temporary European style race circuit features a high-speed tarmac straight on which the bikes will hit over a 100mph, fast swooping curves as well as the usual spectacular tight supermoto turns to show the bikes ‘backing it in’ sideways. All of this coupled with a purpose built ‘stadium’ style off-road section that promises some truly awesome racing. A British Supermoto Grand Prix round of the World Supermoto Championships has also been pencilled in at Sportcity for 2009.
Meanwhile the BSMC race day kicks off at 09.00 am and will run all day until the double points scoring final climaxing at 20.00. This innovative and breath-taking all-action event will showcase the very best of British supermoto to the public right in the heart of Manchester which is sure to draw in a large crowd of fascinated spectators.
Gary Crate, Sportcity Estate Manager "is delighted to welcome the very first motorsport event to Sportcity and we look forward to an exciting days racing on 27 September."
The race format will give Clubman, S4 Junior 84-150cc bikes as well as the usual BSMC S1 (450), S2 (open-class) Aprilia SXV Challenge Cup and the S3 (250) classes four races as well as practice and qualifying sessions. So whether you’re a Clubman, a Junior supermoto racer, a potential World Champion or just keen on anything to do with bikes, Sportcity, Manchester is the place to be on Saturday 27 September. Click on to www.britishsupermoto.org for the full SP on what promises to be an amazing supermoto extravaganza that will put supermoto firmly on the sporting map.

Blyton rounds 5 & 6................. By admin Published: July 14, 2008 Updated: July 14, 2008

This weekend sees the 2008 British Supermoto Championship gather pace as we bring the series to the fantastic county of Lincolnshire.
Loved by some and loathed by others , Blyton never fails to impress and often brings some suprises in the results order.
This 2 day double header will provide close racing in all classes, and those all important points will be adding up as we reach the midway point in the championships.
Circuit management for the weekend is provided by Toby Taylor and the NORA crew, who have all the necessary infastructure to maintain the offroad sections etc..........whatever the weather conditions .
Late entries to any class can be taken on the day, and we can also offer AMCA day licences.

**IMPORTANT** DATE & VENUE CHANGE ROUNDS 9&10 By admin Published: July 8, 2008 Updated: July 8, 2008
Print Email
Due to the S1/S2 World Championship round being changed, it now clashes with our planned 20th/21st September event.
To add to this problem, the Fakenham venue is a military base, and has recently had to cancel all events due to the war etc.
Both these issues are completely beyond our control, and we have done our very best to find a suitable replacement .
We are please to announce that rounds 9 and 10 will be held at Manby Motorplex near Louth , Lincs.
The circuit owners are making changes to the layout previously used, so that this will be a completely new circuit for you to race on. We have asked a number of riders to help out planning the track and riding it beforehand to ensure it is safe, rideable at all skill levels and most importanly exciting to race on.
The date will now be SEPTEMBER 27TH AND 28TH.
